Indications for Use
It is indicated for the pain in gastrointestinal biliary, urinary and gynaecological disease such as gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, cholecystitis, colonopathies, mild cystitis and spasmodic dysmenorrhoea
Drug Information
Tiemonium competitively antagonizes cholinergic stimulation. It shows an affinity for histamine H1-receptors, and does not affect alpha-adrenergic receptor stimulation.
Tiemonium is therefore a novel antispasmodic which blocks the cholinergic receptor, but being less specific than atropine.
